Privacy Policy

Summary

We collect as little as possible. No account is needed. We do not sell or share personal data.

Location

If you tap “Use my location”, your browser shares your position with this page only. We use it in your browser to pick the nearest forecast place, round it to one decimal, and store that choice on your device (localStorage). It is never sent to our servers.

Alerts

If you sign up for alerts we store your email address, the place you chose, your alert level, and when we last emailed you, in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We use it only to send aurora alerts. Emails are sent through Resend. You can unsubscribe with one click from any email, which deletes your record.

To prevent abuse, the sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile and we keep a short-lived, one-way hash of your IP address for rate limiting.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites. If Google Analytics or advertising is enabled in the future, this policy will be updated first and a consent choice offered where required.

Stored on your device

Your chosen place, saved places, theme (dark, light, red night mode), and units are stored in your browser’s localStorage. You can clear them anytime with “Forget my location” or your browser settings.
